rooftop Clivet CSNX-iY 28.2

An ambitious project in the heart of Villenave d'Ornon Little Big Shack is a restaurant designed to reflect the atmosphere of the American coast:large spaces, wooden materials, beach spirit and rich cuisine.

To ensure a satisfying experience for customers, it was essential that the interior comfort was perfectly in line with the atmosphere of the restaurant: healthy air, stable temperature,  leasant environment.

Clivet was commissioned to design a complete heating, air conditioning and ventilation solution that would meet the needs of a new double-height building, while remaining discreet and perfectly integrated into the architecture.

Project challenges

The system to be implemented had to meet several technical and aesthetic requirements:

  • Ensure heating, cooling and air quality with a single system
  • Distribute air naturally and without discomfort, with an imperceptible flow
  • Preserve the interior design: no visible equipment
  • Maintain consistent comfort on both levels

Offer a reliable, sustainable and energy-efficient solution

Solution chosen: the Clivet CSNX-iY 28.2 rooftop unit

To meet all the requirements, the choice fell on a Clivet CSNX-iY 28.2 rooftop unit, a 3-in-1 solution capable of providing heating, air conditioning and air quality for the entire restaurant on its own. This centralised system allows all heating requirements to be grouped together while respecting
the architectural constraints of the location. From a technical point of view, installation on the roof ensures completely invisible integration, combined with intelligent airflow management suitable for large volumes and compliant with ERP requirements. From the user's point of view, this solution ensures a naturally balanced atmosphere with no perceptible draughts. Air diffusion has been integrated into the interior design:

• Upstairs: a micro-perforated duct ensures gentle and even diffusion, with no cold spots.
• Ground floor: discreet ventilation grilles maintain even air exchange.

No equipment is visible in the customer areas, thus fully meeting the initial aesthetic objective.

Results observed after installation

  • Controlled thermal comfort in all seasons
  • No discomfort zones, even in the highest areas
  • Totally invisible integration (no visual impact)
  • Single solution → optimised costs and simplified maintenance
  • Stable, natural and pleasant air quality

Since opening, Little Big Shack has confirmed the success of the project: customers enjoy a level of comfort appreciate.
